Val d’ Isere is the largest and one of the most famous French ski resorts.  Home to Olympic gold medalist Jean-Claud Kily, Val d’Isere has titled itself “The most beautiful ski area in the world”.  The resort is considered a bucket list destination by many avid skiers.

The mountain has three ski areas Le Fornet, Le Solaise, and Bellevarde. Val d’ Isere’s terrain is most appropriate for advanced intermediate to expert skiers.  This is a mountain where hiring a guide is recommended.  Val d’ Isere is connected to Tignes and you can enjoy both resorts on the Espace Kily lift ticket.

The village is a balance of tradition and modern amenities.  There are about 45 hotels and many chalets and self-catering apartments (condos) that service the area. The village also provides vibrant après and dining options.
