Flims is a year round resort that caters to both winter and summer sports enthusiast. The resort is also the home of the FIS World Championship and the Burton European Open in snowboarding. The area of Flims, Laax and Falera are known as the Alpinaraea.
Like many Swiss resorts, Flims has terrain that is appropriate for skiers of all abilities. The area has a vast network of lifts and over 130 miles of trails. Due to its altitude, Flims-Laax has dependable snow particularly on the Vorab Glacier. The resort is a leading area for freeriding and is very popular with snowboarders.
The village of the Alpenarena have experienced an upgrade in facilites. The station of Lax Murschteg has numerous bars, shops and lodging options.
